The so-called Certificate P2 (Certificate for the export of pasta to the USA referred to in art.2 of EC Regulation 88/2007 of 12/12/2006) is a document that accompanies the export to the USA of edible pasta as to CN codes 1902 11 00 and 1902 19 of the Customs Tariff.

The P2 Certificate was introduced with specific community regulations following the adoption of specific agreements between the European Union and the United States of America, aimed at facilitating such procedures.

The P2 certificate consisting of one original and three copies, must be requested by interested parties (pasta exporters) from the Customs Agency for each quantity of pasta exported to the USA.

As of 2 July 2012, in order to simplify the obligations for economic operators, the request takes place with the sole insertion of the code C012 in box 44.7 of the export declaration (circular no. 8/D of 9/05/2012 and note no. 64157/RU of 22/05/2012).

The certificate is issued by the system together with the export declaration and must be collected at the competent Customs when the declaration is registered.
