The control of the game is reserved to the State, which has exercised it, since 2000, through the AAMS. The Administration grants the exercise of the game to private individuals, who make the necessary investments, supply suitable business tools and manage the game according to the rules, whose observance is constantly verified, in the public interest. The Italian legislation intends to give remote gaming the character of entertainment, socialization and pleasant use of free time, substantially differentiating it from other games, which are based mainly on individual behavior and on the distance, both physical and temporal, between the moment of the game and that of winning.
