Customs Single Window
To carry out an import/export operation, economic operators must submit, apart from the customs declaration, up to 68 requests to other 18 administrations, transmitting to each of them information and data that are often identical or similar, in order to obtain authorizations, permits, necessary licenses and clearances, in the great majority of cases issued on paper.
In the absence of effective coordination between the administrations involved in the customs clearance process, the costs and timing of fragmentation fall on the companies.
