Smart port project digitisation

ADM, together with other institutional entities, has long been committed to implementing the digitisation of customs procedures in Italian ports: the project aims to automate all entry and exitoperations as well as embarkation and disembarkation connected with import and export of goods having customs relevance, as well as the payment of port taxes and the tracking of the status of the goods at customsthrough the rationalization and interoperability between information systems.

ADM has moved towards the complete automation of customs procedures and logistics operations connected to the flow of goods: in the long term, automation will also make it possible to rationalize the use of the various port spaces (docks, container gates, railway gates, etc.).

Several territorial areas are already an integral part of the ports’ 'national digitisation site' thanks to which the Customs and Monopolies Agency aims at achieving greater standardization of customs processes, re-engineering them, making them simpler and more homogeneous across the territory: the site has already seen 17 national ports involved and represents an important development program not only for Customs, but for the whole country, being strongly characterized by digital cooperation between public entities.
